Tied up in a legal morass (Since it was released in 1956) , this is one of the best versions of this George Orwell novel ever brought to the screen. Due in no small part to it's star Edmond O'Brien. I sure hope we get a dvd release some day.

Wow, 1984's my favourite book and I've never even heard of this incarnation. Haha, "will ecstasy be a crime"? Fantastic! I have to see this.
Also the design of the anti-sex league member kind of reminds me of a sentinel from X-Men. Or any one of a number of images of characters with closed in retro-looking helmets come to think of it. Hm.
