Goodbye Mr. Harryhausen
I
was happy to have met Mr. Harryhausen at Comic Con and Cinecon. He was
nice enough to take the time to discuss his films and entertained this
fanboy for several minutes. He opened the door to my imagination for
years. Now he is reunited with his buddies Uncle Forry & Ray
Bradbury.

If I had to say what my first Ah-Ha
moment was seeing in 1957 on the Big Screen Sinbad's Giant Cyclops and the Cyclops fighting the Dragon.
I am a loyal fan of Harry's and can say Thank God for him and his mentor Willis O'Brian.
In the 1930's the Men where big kids making dreams come true.
King Kong, Dracula and Frankenstein.
Picture this. In 1931 a young girl of 9 years old , living in a gas lite apartment went into the scary dark basement of the 5 floor walk up to shovel coal in a bucket and send it up the Dumb Waiter, and I saw this 30 years later and it was scary, in New York City, went to see Frankenstein.
Unprepaired this innocent saw the Horrible face of the Frankenstein's Monster, 20 feet tall on the screen, she screamed and jumped under the seat.
The girl is my Mom. She me this. She and Dad loved these Movies. He had not been to a Movie in many years but in 1977 The New Sinbad Movie came out and he said he had to go. I remember him a man who survived WW2 smiling.
Thanks. By the way Forbidden Planet is my favorite and
Harryhausen's films are my close second. never forget jason and the Argonaughts. WOW. Vince
Hi Vince,
Thanks for the comments. My first Harryhausen in the theater was GOLDEN VOYAGE OF SINBAD. It was a memory I will never forget. Forbidden Planet is still my number 1 fav. Sci Fi flick.
