Tied up in a legal morass (Since it was released in 1956) , this is one of the best versions of this George Orwell novel ever brought to the screen. Due in no small part to it's star Edmond O'Brien. I sure hope we get a dvd release some day.
Those classic "Road" pictures with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby would not have been the same without our favorite Sarong wearing beauty, Dorothy "Dottie" Lamour. Here she is as she was best remembered.

Really neat lobby as Bela glares at lead actress Madge Bellamy (In an incredibly wooden performance) stares ahead. I love the glance given by the annoyed butler in the background.
In 1943, Paramount Studios was happy to announce that Popeye was now in Color. Of course the Spinach Eater had appeared in three 20 min. Technicolor masterpieces prior to this "Event". Here is a stock one sheet with everyone's favorite Bully Beater Upper.
