The Big Guy in Blue and Red is 70!


2008 marks the 70th B-day of this iconic figure. But way back in 1941, Superman first flew in a series of very expensive cartoons made by the Fleischer Brothers. So unique in their execution, that the first in this series of 17 masterpieces, titled THE MAD SCIENTIST was nominated for an Academy Award for best short subject,cartoon. It (Never should have)lost to a Walt Disney cartoon LEND A PAW.
Here is the poster that the theatres simply replaced the title of the cartoon each month in the white space.
